NEW COLD-STORAGE DOOR SYSTEM COMBINES
HIGH-SPEED ACCESS, SUPERIOR SEALING

MILWAUKEE, WI – Rite-Hite Doors, Inc., announces the introduction of a new, temperature isolation technology that combines high-speed access and impactability with superior sealing and effective insulation for cold-storage areas.

The Iso-Tek™ Door System is a high-speed, bi-parting door with flexible foam-core panels, and a tight seal around the opening. The 3-inch thick, flexible panels provide effective insulation without the need for expensive panel defrost systems, yet are impactable to prevent maintenance costs and downtime. A hinged, hanging-panel design enhances impactability with no panel deformation or loss of sealing efficiency following an impact.

Iso-Tek doors limit infiltration with a unique Thermal Air™ Sealing System that features 4-1/2" fabric tubes that circulate warm air around the opening perimeter. This superior seal is combined with a thick, insulated nose seal and a compression bottom seal. Meanwhile, a canted, V-shaped header ensures a tight seal against the floor. When the door closes, the header guides the door downward to exert pressure against the floor. When the door opens, the header lifts the door, eliminating friction and ensuring the long-term life of the bottom seals. With effective sealing and insulation, the door system limits heat gain from both conduction and convection, and helps prevent potentially hazardous frost buildup.

Heavily insulated rigid doors provide a tight seal when closed, but tend to be slow-acting and can deform on impact, losing their seal and creating costly maintenance and downtime. Meanwhile, flexible plastic doors allow better access to cold-storage areas, but provide little sealing or insulation and may require expensive panel defrost systems. Hybrid systems using both kinds of doors may combine all of these disadvantages.

The unique Iso-Tek system eliminates the need for two doors on one opening. You no longer need to sacrifice speed and impactability to get an effective seal and high insulating value. Designed to be mounted on either the warm or cold side of the opening, the Iso-Tek system has a low-profile design that conserves floor space and allows operation behind racking.

The Iso-Tek Door System also provides maximum safety during operation. If the door encounters an object while closing, the controls sense an increase in torque and reverses direction without the need for external electronics or sensing devices on the leading edge of the panels. For applications requiring high visibility, optional insulated four-pane vision panels provide a clear view through the door. In addition, traffic flow can be improved with optional colored accent panels, pre-announce devices and a variety of activation options.
